Using Wreltik for Competitive Analysis: What You Can Learn from Competitor Ads
Most competitive creative analysis involves watching competitor ads and forming opinions. This is better than nothing. It's also unreliable — your opinion about a competitor's ad is filtered through your own preferences, your knowledge of your own product, and your blind spots about what your audience actually responds to.
Running competitor ads through Wreltik gives you an objective layer of analysis on top of your subjective judgment. The combination is more useful than either alone.
What you can learn
Which cognitive dimensions your competitors are winning on. If three competitors consistently score high on Emotional Resonance while your ads score lower, that's a pattern worth investigating. They're doing something emotionally that you're not. The Wreltik scores tell you there's a gap. Your creative judgment tells you whether the gap matters and how to close it.
Structural patterns at the category level. When you test 10-15 ads from your category, patterns emerge. Maybe the top-performing ads all use a specific hook structure. Maybe they all place the brand at a specific point in the ad. Maybe they all have a particular pacing rhythm. These patterns aren't visible from watching — they're visible from systematically comparing scores.
White space opportunities. If every competitor's ad has high Cognitive Load (too dense, too fast, too complex), there's an opportunity to be the brand that's easier to process. If every competitor's ad has low Reward Response (low satisfaction, low resolution), there's an opportunity to be the brand that delivers satisfying content.
Fatigue signals. If a competitor's ad has been running heavily and its predicted scores suggest it should be strong, but its actual platform performance is declining, the ad is fatiguing. This tells you something about how fast creative fatigues in your category, which helps you plan your own refresh cycles.
How to do it systematically

Collect 10-15 competitor ads across 2-3 competitors. Include ads that appear to be running at high spend (you can infer this from frequency and duration in-market).

Run them through Wreltik. Record scores across all six dimensions.

Look for patterns, not outliers. One competitor ad with unusually high Emotional Resonance might be an outlier. Three competitor ads from different brands all showing the same dimensional strength is a category pattern.

Compare to your own ads. Where do your scores cluster relative to the competitive set? Are you leading on any dimension? Lagging on any dimension? Is the pattern consistent across your ads, or does it vary?

Form hypotheses, not conclusions. "Our Emotional Resonance scores are consistently lower than competitors" is a finding. "We should make more emotional ads" is not a useful response. A better hypothesis: "Our ads are information-dense and emotionally flat. What if we led with an emotional hook and delivered the information second?"
What competitive analysis can't tell you
It can't tell you whether the competitor's ads are actually working. High Wreltik scores predict strong cognitive response. They don't predict market performance — the competitor might have great creative and a terrible product, or great creative and targeting that misses the mark.
It can't tell you what to make. Competitive analysis shows you what's working in the category. It doesn't tell you whether copying it is the right move. Sometimes the right response to a competitive pattern is to do the opposite — find the dimension everyone is neglecting and own it.
It can't replace audience testing. Competitor analysis through Wreltik tells you about the creative. It doesn't tell you about your specific audience's specific preferences. Use it to generate hypotheses. Validate those hypotheses with your own testing.
